There is a lot of support for babies after birth, but virtually nothing for the healing mother. Today I am excited to introduce Zoe Gardiner, as we discuss the importance of post-partum care for mothers. Zoe is a mother of two, a research scientist, and a post-partum activist. She is the Founder of Postpartum Matters, a not-for-profit organization working to share postpartum stories and to change the current model of health care which sees women regularly being discharged before they are ready. She is dedicated to creating this change while supporting those suffering through their experience.

After having her second child, and being discharged just 10 days after, Zoe felt that things that were happening with her body were not normal, and she sought help. With many delays in receiving support, Zoe quickly realized that there is very little support for women postpartum.

As an advocate for women’s health, Zoe shares her story of her post-partum journey and is opening space for others to do as well. Listen in as Zoe and I discuss the holes in our medical system for postpartum mothers and how she sees this as a very impactful time in a woman’s life and that the proper support is needed.
